We believe that God created an innumerable company of sinless, spiritual beings known as angels; that one, “. . . Lucifer, son of the morning!” — the highest in rank– sinned through pride, thereby becoming Satan; that a great company of the angels followed him in his fall, some of whom became demons and are active as his agents and associates in the prosecution of his unholy purposes, while others who fell are “. . .reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”

We believe that a great company of angels kept their holy estate and are before the throne of God, from whence they are sent forth as ministering spirits to minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation.

We believe that the true church is manifested in the local church which is a congregation of immersed believers associated by a covenant of faith and the fellowship of the gospel; that it observes the ordinances of Christ; that it is governed by His laws; that it exercises the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in it by His word; and that its Biblically prescribed officers are pastors and deacons whose qualifications and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures. We believe that the mission of the church is the evangelizing of the unsaved in all the world according to Acts 1:8, the teaching and strengthening of the saints, the bearing of one another’s burdens, and the helping of the poor and needy. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; that the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit; that it is scriptural for true churches to cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the gospel; that each local church is the sole judge of the measure and method of its cooperation; and that on all matters of membership, of policy, of government, of discipline, and of benevolence, the will of the local church is final.

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, under the authority of the local church, to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, through Whom we died to sin and rose to a new life; and that baptism is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. We believe that the Lord’s supper is the commemoration of His death until He comes and should be preceded always by solemn self-examination. We believe that the Biblical order of the ordinances is baptism and then the Lord’s supper and that participants in the Lord’s supper should be immersed believers.

We believe that civil government is of Divine appointment for the interests and good order of human society; and that magistrates are to be prayed for and conscientiously honored and obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ Who is the only Lord of the conscience and coming King of Kings.
