In the Gospel of Mark, chapter 15, Pilate asked a simple question that is still relevant to us today. He pointedly asked this question to the religious rulers and the religious mob gathered at the Passover feast.
Why, what evil has He done?
The howling mobs were demanding that the murderer Barabbas should be freed; they demanded that Jesus Christ should be crucified.
This passage gives us remarkable insight into the injustice that was done by the two greatest justice systems of the day.
But there is plenty of blame to go around. Today, we have to ask ourselves, “How are we ‘handing over’ Jesus Christ?”
