Beliefs

Scriptures

We believe (a) that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings and that they are (b) the supreme and final authority in faith and life. The primary translation to be used in all teaching, preaching, classes, meetings, etc., shall be the authorized King James Version.

God

We believe in one God Who is (a) eternal, (b) omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent; Who manifests (c) Himself in Three Persons– Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Who is one in nature, attributes, power and glory; and Who is equal in every diving perfection, executing distinct but (d) harmonious offices in the economy of God.

God the Father

We believe in God the Father Who is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully with the affairs of men and that He hears and answers prayers offered in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by those who are saved and are walking in His will.

Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ (a) was begotten by the Holy Spirit and was (b) born virgin mother; that He is (c) true God and true man; that He lived (d) a sinless life; that He died for our sins (e) according to the Scriptures as a (f) representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He rose again from the dead in a (g) bodily resurrection; that He ascended (h) into heaven where He appears as the believers’ (i) High Priest and Advocate; that He will come again according to promise; (j) and that His coming again is imminent (k) and will be personal, visible, bodily and premillennial to establish His (l) Messianic Kingdom over all the earth and (m) to sit on the Throne of David to rule (n) in peace and righteousness as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Deity and person (a) of the Holy Spirit Who came forth (b) from God the Father and God the Son to administer the office work of God on earth during this dispensation of grace; Who convicts of sin (c) Who reveals the Lord Jesus Christ (d) Who regenerates sinners who believe (e)on Christ; Who restrains evil (f) until God’s purposes are accomplished; and Who baptized (g) seals (h) indwells (i) enlightens (j) teaches (k) comforts (l) and helps the believer (m). The gifts of tongues and healing were “sign gifts” until the Scriptures were completed (n). These gifts ceased at that time (o).

Angels - Satan

We believe that God created an innumerable company of sinless, spiritual beings known as angels; that one, “. . . Lucifer, son of the morning!” — the highest in rank– sinned through pride, thereby becoming Satan; that a great company of the angels followed him in his fall, some of whom became demons and are active as his agents and associates in the prosecution of his unholy purposes, while others who fell are “. . .reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”

References: Isaiah 14:12-17 II Peter 2:5 Ezekiel 18:11-19 Jude vs. 6 I Timothy 3:6

We believe that a great company of angels kept their holy estate and are before the throne of God, from whence they are sent forth as ministering spirits to minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation.

References: Luke 15:10 Hebrews 1:14 Ephesians 1:21 Revelation 7:12

Creation

We believe that God created the heavens, the earth and everything in them in six literal, consecutive 24 hour days (a). We believe that man (b) came into the world by special creation and not by evolution; that he was made (c) in the image and likeness of God, but that (d) he sinned and incurred both spiritual (e) and physical (f) death; and that all (g) descendants of Adam are born with a sinful nature and are totally (h) depraved and must be (i) born again to be saved.

Marriage

We believe that the Bible teaches that God designed marriage as a lifelong (a), monogamous, covenantal union (b) between one biologically born man and one biologically born woman (c).”

Salvation

We believe (a) that salvation from sin and death and hell is by God’s grace alone, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, apart (b) from works of human merit or deeds of the law; that sinners (c) believing on the Lord Jesus Christ are born from above by the Holy Spirit and by (d) the Word of God; that all who are saved are made partakers of the (e) Divine Nature, experience a new creation (f) in Christ Jesus, and receive (g) eternal life and (h) shall never perish; and that all such are (i) eternally kept by the power of God.

The Lord's Return

We believe (a) the Lord’s return for His own is imminent– that He may (b) come at any moment to catch His own away from the earth in a glorious rapture to be forever with the Lord. We reject, as error, any theory that suggests (c) a partial, a mid-tribulation, or a post-tribulation rapture of the saints.

The Resurrection

We believe that there will be a (a) resurrection of the just and of the unjust (b) but not (c) in the same resurrection; that there will be a (d) judgment of believers at the Judgment seat of Christ, a judgment of the nations (e) when Jesus comes to earth in power and great glory, and a judgment of the wicked dead at the Great White Throne (f) and that the saved shall go into everlasting (g) bliss and the lost into everlasting conscious (h) sufferings.

Dispensations

We believe (a) that it is important to teach dispensational truth (God deals, and has dealt (b) specifically with different peoples at different times and in different administrations in relation to man’s responsibility and God’s sovereign economy); that God speaks specifically of three classes of people, namely, the (c) Jew, the (d) Gentile, and the (e) Church of God; that the church is (f) not the Messianic Kingdom of Christ, and “..that (g) blindness in part is happened to Israel,” God’s earthly chosen people, until the Church is completed, but that (h) God will eventually fulfill His promises to them and bring them to their greatest glory.

Law and Grace

We believe (a) that there can be no mixture of law and grace; that the (b) Sabbath was given distinctly to Israel and was never given to the church nor changed to Sunday, but (c) that believers should meet on the first day of the week for worship, fellowship, instruction, inspiration, and the ministry of the Word; that (d) faith and works are taught in Scripture, but that (e) works follow and are the result of salvation and never a means to salvation; and that salvation and rewards are two distinctly different things according to the Word of God.

Justification

We believe that justification is the judicial act of God whereby He declares us to be righteous through faith in Christ Jesus; that justification includes the pardon of sin and the imputation of God’s righteousness; and that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His cleansing blood.

References: Isaiah 53:11 II Corinthians 5:18 Zechariah 13:1 Romans 5:1-9, 8:1 Acts 13:39

Sanctification

We believe that sanctification (a) is the divine setting apart of the believer by the Holy Spirit, by the blood of Christ, and by the Word of God; that (b) it is internal, eternal, and normally progressive, but it is not (c) the eradication of the Adamic nature, instead, (d) the believer has two natures; and that here is a (e) distinction between his standing before God in Christ and his state or condition in the body of flesh.

The True Church

We believe that the (a) true church of God, in the larger sense, includes all born-again believers in Christ in this dispensation; that (b) the true church is the body of Christ of which He is the Head; that it began (c) at Pentecost and (d) will be completed at the time of the rapture; and that (e) the body of Christ is also the bride of Christ which will live and reign with Him in His coming kingdom.

The Local Church

We believe that the true church is manifested in the local church which is a congregation of immersed believers associated by a covenant of faith and the fellowship of the gospel; that it observes the ordinances of Christ; that it is governed by His laws; that it exercises the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in it by His word; and that its Biblically prescribed officers are pastors and deacons whose qualifications and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures. We believe that the mission of the church is the evangelizing of the unsaved in all the world according to Acts 1:8, the teaching and strengthening of the saints, the bearing of one another’s burdens, and the helping of the poor and needy. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; that the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit; that it is scriptural for true churches to cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the gospel; that each local church is the sole judge of the measure and method of its cooperation; and that on all matters of membership, of policy, of government, of discipline, and of benevolence, the will of the local church is final.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, under the authority of the local church, to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, through Whom we died to sin and rose to a new life; and that baptism is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. We believe that the Lord’s supper is the commemoration of His death until He comes and should be preceded always by solemn self-examination. We believe that the Biblical order of the ordinances is baptism and then the Lord’s supper and that participants in the Lord’s supper should be immersed believers.

Separation

We believe in the Biblical command for believers to separate unto God from sin, worldliness, and ecclesiastical apostasy.

References: II Corinthians 6:14, 7:1 I Thessalonians 1:9, 10 I Timothy 6:3-5 Romans 16:17 II John vs. 9-11 Romans 12:1, 2

Civil Government

We believe that civil government is of Divine appointment for the interests and good order of human society; and that magistrates are to be prayed for and conscientiously honored and obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ Who is the only Lord of the conscience and coming King of Kings.
